GA 400 GDOT Construction Project

We would like to update you on the construction that is occurring on Hammond Drive in front of our building. Unfortunately, our signage has been removed in front of the building. This happened a little sooner than originally expected.

Hopefully, by Monday February 1st we will know where the MARTA stop will be moved to. As of right now, the nearest MARTA stop is next door in front of Good Year. The GDOT is communicating with MARTA concerning this situation.

The information below was provided to us by our building management company:

· Starting February 1st, barrels will be erected along the northern outside portion of the Hammond Bridge over GA 400 for C.W. Matthews to start expanding the bridge to the north. This should be complete by October 2010. Once complete, traffic will be shifted onto the new bridge and work will begin on the southern, older portion of the bridge.

· No lanes of traffic are allowed to be closed between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday thru Friday unless safety conditions dictate otherwise.

· Pylon driving will begin February 1 and should have limited to no affect on vibration within the Lakeside Commons buildings.

· The driveways servicing Lakeside Commons will be fully operational throughout the project with limited hindrance.

· As part of the project, a sound barrier will be erected along the east side of GA 400 to start at roughly where the new ramps end and up GA 400 towards Abernathy.
*Please note, while the construction company will try their best to maintain the dates set forth above, deadlines can be ever changing while working on this type of project due to weather, etc. Please know that we will do our best to keep you informed of any changes or new developments.

Refund Information- Spring 2010 Semester

Students will begin receiving disbursements on their student link for the Spring 2010 the week of January 18, 2010 and we will receive disbursements everyday (except Fridays) through February 5, 2010 or until all completed files have been processed.

*Please contact us after Friday February 5, 2010 in order to allow time for processing and disbursing of outstanding refunds. Prior to then, please check your student link for information regarding your account.

Please keep in mind that even if your lender says it has disbursed, if it does not appear on your student link then that means that we have not processed it yet.

At the start of a semester, there is no way to know ahead of time what specific day a certain students disbursement will come in, therefore we ask that between 1/18/10 and 2/5/10 please check your Student Link or Log on to https://debit.salliemae.com/AUA and log in to your personal account for refund and disbursement information.

As soon as the money is received by the school, the student will be able to see this information by following the steps below:

1. Go to https://mycampus.argosy.edu and login using your “User ID” and “Pin”
2. Once you have logged in, click on “Click here To Access Self Service”
3. Then click on “My Finances”
4. Then click on “Account Summary"

Once the school receives the student’s disbursement, your account will show one of 2 options below:

1. A Negative or amount in parenthesis ()-means that the school received the disbursement, tuition has been paid and the Negative amount or amount in parenthesis will be refunded to the student. The reason that it is Negative or in parenthesis is because the money was just received and the refund has not yet been sent out. Once the refund is processed the account will read show message below. It may appear negative or in parenthesis for up to 10 business days.

2. Stipend- This means that your tuition has been paid and the refund amount has been sent to https://debit.salliemae.com/AUA for processing.

*Please note, that all refunds are now disbursed through Sallie Mae Bank. If you have not already done so, please log on as a new user. If you have already set up your account, please access this site to set up direct deposit account as well as to review refund information. Their number is 800 239-4211

Campus Operating Hours, Access Cards, Registration, Gmail Issues and more...

Dear AUA Students,

I hope you enjoyed a great semester. As we continue to grow and make positive changes, remember the following:

Campus Hours:
The AUA Campus opens at 6am and closes at midnight (12am). Lakeside Commons security officers continue to be very gracious about warning students before midnight so you have time to close up, pack up, and leave before midnight. Most of you comply and exit on time. Thank you.

However, a few students are not complying with the policy. When this happens, Lakeside Commons security officers write what is called an incident report. The report is passed on to our campus. Students who are the subject of such incident reports more than once may be referred to the Student Conduct Committee, (page 34-35 of the Academic Catalog, available on the right or at www.argosy.edu).

Access Cards/Student ID Cards:
Lakeside Commons security also report an increase in students who do not have a valid Argosy Atlanta Access Card. The number of temporary ID cards is limited. Security Officers will not allow you access to campus without your Argosy ID or a temporary ID. So bring your Access Card with you or stop by Student Services (Suite 150) to purchase a replacement. The cost is 10 dollars.

Visitors and Children on Campus:
Children are not allowed on the 2nd and 4th floors. If you have business on the 1st floor that won’t take more than 15 minutes, you may bring your children. But they must be supervised by you at all time. No exceptions. Visitors 18 years or older must accompany you at all times.

Registration:
Spring Registration is still open…. You can view the course schedule and register on the student portal or submit an Add/Drop form.

Inclement Weather:
Stay tuned to STAR 94 and WXIA – 11 ALIVE for information on campus closing due to inclement weather.

Gmail Issues:
If you are not able to access your Gmail or old Argosy email, click on the help link at https://imageservers.edmc.edu/googleapps/help/index.html.
