GDOT Construction Alert

Dear Students:

Please be advised that starting tomorrow, Saturday, November 13th the Georgia DOT will need to close the Building Two access road and upper entrance/exit at Hammond Drive through the end of the day Thursday, November 18th. During this time, students will need to utilize the main entrance and exit to the property or the secondary entrance located between Wells Fargo and the Publix shopping center.

This closure is necessary at this time since the construction company is in the process of preparing to transfer traffic onto the new bridge in the upcoming weeks. Their goal is to get the roadway in front of our property completed ASAP providing the least amount of disruption to our access.

After Thursday, November 18th this entrance and exit will be opened again for use; however, the roadway application will be a gravel composite until December 8th. Therefore, we highly recommend continued use of the main entrance and exit to the property during this time.

Again, we cannot thank you enough for your patience and understanding through this project. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and as always ask you to please contact Student Services with any questions or concerns you may have.

Assitant Director of Student Services

Veterans Day

On this Veterans Day we would like to thank all of our servicemen and women for their service and sacrifice to our nation.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead.
Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
— Lt.-Col. John McCrae, (1872 - 1918)
